Celebrating 250 Years

In 2026 the Capitol Visitor Center commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Take a tour of the historic Capitol with one of our engaging Visitor Guides. Visit our special exhibit, the Spirit of ’76, opening in early 2026. Visitor Center Curators and Education Specialists will host an array of onsite public programs – including Family Programs for young learners – highlighting the special exhibit.

Explore online educational resources and virtual programs about Congress, the Capitol and the extraordinary individuals and events that shaped our nation.
