Exploring the Capitol Visitor Center

Groups can experience interactive exhibits dedicated to telling the story of Congress and the U.S. Capitol in Exhibition Hall. Enter behind the Statue of Freedom on the lower level of the Capitol Visitor Center. Tickets are not required to enter Exhibition Hall.

The Democracy Lab is a hands-on learning space in Exhibition Hall for young visitors and their families. Groups of 15 or more children under the age of 18, including school and camp groups, must make a reservation to visit the Democracy Lab. Please contact education@visitthecapitol.gov to make your reservation or if you have questions prior to your visit. Please note that the maximum capacity for this space is 40 visitors at any given time.

Booking a Student Program

Groups can register for in-person programming at the Capitol Visitor Center on select Wednesdays and Thursdays from October through February. Program offerings and registration information can be found on our In-Person Education page.

Registration for virtual programs led by Capitol Visitor Center educators is available all year on select Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. For more information, visit our Virtual Classroom page.
