Before joining the Capitol Visitor Center team, Nik was the Associate Director of the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, where he oversaw exhibition design and production, collections management, electronic research, external affairs, operations, visitor services, new media and publications.
Previously, Nik served as Associate Manager for Planning and Budget at the National Gallery of Art.
Nik teaches as an Adjunct Professor of Museum Studies in the MA programs at both Johns Hopkins University and George Washington University. He completed his MA at Danube University in Austria, and his BA at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Nik is also a graduate of the Getty Museum Leadership Institute, and received a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Case Western Reserve University.
