School Desegregation

Classmates got acquainted in a newly desegregated Virginia school on September 8, 1954, following the landmark Supreme Court case, Brown v. Board of Education, but ten years prior to the federal ban of segregation. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 enforced desegregation.
